PERSONAL STYDY PLAN
My previous teaching experience has been part time teaching for the last ten years. This teaching has consisted classes for both, vocational school level and university level. However, my primary work has been within my own vocational career and I have used this as an example when I have been teaching to students.
-- Strenghts from previous teaching experience:
- confidence to speak in front of large group of people
- ability and will to share my knowledge to others
- ability to make students interested of the study subject
- learned how to plan classes ahead efficiently
-- Weaknesses and learning points:
- I need more pedagogical methods how to teach
- investigate different types of learners, how to teach them
- how to join vocational institutes goals into my teaching
- because previous experience is part time teaching, collaboration with the work industry is lacking
SCHEDJULE:
Fall 2013- spring 2014 - Complete Optional studies / 12credits
Summer 2014 - spring 2015 - VOC studies / 20credits
February 2015 - Teaching experience begins. Observation for scenography students for one week in Novia yrkeshögskolan in Vaasa.
March 2015 - Teaching experience continues. Teaching scenography students for two weeks in Novia yrkeshögskolan in Vaasa
April 2015 - Completing my studies, finalizing teaching portfolio
GOALS for the becoming year:
- gain as much information as possible about teacher hood from VOC online sessions
- try to use different teaching techniques in online sessions. Learn new programs like Drama or Prezi
- combine own vocational expertise in teaching, but also explore examples from others
- Teaching practice is important, enjoy it and make the most of it!
