(SOCIAL MEDIA IN VOCATIONAL TEACHING)
The intention of the course was to familiarize yourself to different tools in social media and how to use them in your teaching. The course had its own pages in optima and its own Facebook page, which can be found here:

All participants had to create their own blog, where they go through their experiences and different tasks. My blog can be found here:

This course took me longer than I thought, as there were not many students making this same course and you needed to comment on other students blogs. However, it was a nice task to scroll around different methods in social media and perhaps use them one day in my teaching.

Aquarium exam with 4 question relating to the study plan and how to use it as a tool when you plan your classes. My questions were:
- Pohdi opetussuunnitelman ulottuvuuksia koulutuksen, opettamisen ja oppimisen näkökulmasta?
- Tarkastele työelämän asettamia haasteita ammatilliselle koulutukselle?
- Arvioi ammatillisen peruskoulutuksen järjestäjän velvollisuutta ja vastuuta opetussuunnitelmatyöstä?
- Tarkastele ammattikorkeakoulun ydinaineksen määrittelyä. Mitä se tarkoittaa ja miten sitä voidaan tehdä?

02.12 2013 AMMATILLINEN OSAAMINEN JA SEN ARVIOINTI / 3credits(VOCATIONAL COMPETENCE AND ITS EVALUATION)
Aquarium exam with 4 questions relating to all aspects of vocational competences and how teacher can evaluate them with various ways. It clarifies different tasks which students have to do along their study path and their final major tasks before graduating. My exam questions were:
- Mikä merkitys työelämäyhteistyöllä on ammatillisissa opinnoissa opiskelijan oppimisen kannalta?
- Millä perusteella ammatillista osaamista arvioidaan?
- Mitä tarkoitetaan kontekstiperusteisella arvioinnilla?
- Miten oppimisen arviointi eroaa osaamisen arvioinnista?
04.10 2013 PROOF OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION / 3credits
An 11 page essay explaining my history of working internationally. Making points of cultural differences in teaching, learning and working. My case study was my teaching work in the University of Connecticut during the year 2013.
To summarize this essay, I wrote about the difficult and slow bureaucracy in the US and the huge size of the university campuses. The structure of the degree programs are different and this took a while to learn. I participated teaching together with couple of professors and noted many teaching methods which I can use in my own teaching. I also noted the size of the country - that everything is bigger in America. This means that it can be seen in many of the aspects in teaching. I also wrote about my own teaching and how it differed - how the students differed, from my previous students in Finland.
